About 101 Dalmatian Street

101 Dalmatian Street is a Canadian-British animated television series, produced by Atomic Cartoons, Passion Animation Studios and DHX Media. The show is based on the 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith and its film franchise. The storyline is set in the modern day, and it follows the adventures of two protagonists Dylan and Dolly and their 97 younger siblings, parents and their many canine friends in the bustling city of London.

Making / Production

The development of the series began in 2015, led by Disney EMEA and Passion Animation Studios. The show was first revealed in 2016 before the airing was later rescheduled for 2018. Creative individuals and teams from around the world including Anttu Harlin and Joonas Utti from Finland's Gigglebug Entertainment, were also involved in the creation and development of the show.

Actors

  • Rhashan Stone as Doug - Rhashan played Doug, the relaxed, modern dad of the 99 young puppies. His performance beautifully captures Doug's carefree but loving nature.
  • Ella Kenion as Delilah - Ella’s portrayal of Delilah, a descended from a long line of esteemed police dogs, showcases the character’s toughness, bravery, and loving nature.
  • Josh Brener as Dylan - Josh voices Dylan, one of the eldest siblings, who is responsible, nervous, and has a love for information and facts.
  • Michaela Dietz as Dolly - Michaela gave voice to Dolly, Dylan's fun, adventurous, and tomboyish sister who loves getting into adventures.

Trivia / Interesting Facts

  • 101 Dalmatian Street is inspired by and set in the same universe as Walt Disney’s 1961 classic, "101 Dalmatians". However, the series is set in contemporary London, unlike the mid 20th-century setting of the original.
  • Although it's called 101 Dalmatian Street, the animated series actually focuses on the lives of just a handful of the 101 dalmatians, primarily Dylan and Dolly, Doug and Delilah.
