Alice finds her salvation in a passionate romance with freshly minted U.S. Congressman Howard Birdwell (Jake Gyllenhaal) who takes up her cause. Further hilarity ensues when the love triangle evolves amidst the crazed antics that love, politics, and a nail in the head can create. The movie subtly explores the question: Will Alice follow her head or heart?
