Released in 2007, "Alvin and the Chipmunks" is a live-action/CGI mix film that is centered on the globally recognized animated music group, The Chipmunks. The plot dives into the lives of three singing chipmunks: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. They are discovered by a struggling songwriter, Dave Seville, who takes them to Los Angeles. As the Chipmunks become a sensation overnight, they must deal with the pressures of fame.

Making/Production

Directed by Tim Hill, this film combines live action with computer-generated animation. Hill worked closely with the animation team to make sure the Chipmunks' personalities come to life on screen.

Actors

• Jason Lee plays Dave Seville, the guy who fosters the Chipmunks. He perfectly portrays the character's struggle and subsequent bonding with the chipmunks.
