In the movie, "The Amityville Horror" released in 2005 on HBO is a remake of the 1979 horror film and based on Jay Anson's 1977 novel of the same name. It is an intense, suspenseful supernatural horror film that follows the Lutz family, as they move into a new home in Amityville, unaware of the house's dark past. The dwelling was the scene of a gruesome mass murder a year prior, and the Lutz family starts to experience unexplained and increasingly violent events. The father, George, starts acting strangely, which leads to a dangerous climax.
