About Animals (HBO)

"Animals" is a compelling HBO adult animated series released in 2016 that peers into the personal lives of various creatures native to Earth's least habitable environment -- New York City. The series offers a unique glimpse into the world of animals, rendered in an unseen light, as they grapple with everyday issues such as survival, romance, and conflict.

Making / Production

The show was produced by Duplass Brothers, the team also being the creators, Mark and Jay Duplass. The exceptional animation of New York’s animals was designed by Starburns Industries, best known for their work in the critically acclaimed "Rick and Morty". The animation’s original concept was based on shedding light on the oft-neglected sentimentality and struggles that animals might experience in an urban backdrop. The actors brought the characters to life through their voice-over works.
