"Anthropoid" is a 2016 historical thriller directed by Sean Ellis. The movie is based on the true story of Operation Anthropoid, the World War II mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich. Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution, was Reich's third-in-command and the chief of the Reich Main Security Office. The plot centers on two soldiers from the Czechoslovakian army-in-exile, Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, who are parachuted into their occupied homeland in December 1941.
