About Apple & Onion

"Apple & Onion" is an animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network in 2018. Set in a world inhabited by anthropomorphic food, the series centers around Apple and Onion, two childlike newcomers to the big city. The duo must navigate the challenges of city life while remaining true to who they are. Adamant they don’t conform to the crowd, they live in a building populated by characters as varied and diverse as they are unusual, each with their own quirky personality.

Making / Production

The TV series was created by George Gendi for Cartoon Network. After working as a storyboard artist on hit shows such as The Amazing World of Gumball and Sanjay and Craig, Gendi used his unique creative flair to develop this original concept. The pilot episode was greenlit by Cartoon Network in 2015, and three years later, the series officially premiered in 2018.

Actors

• George Gendi voices Apple, the fun-loving and cheerful character who embarks on exciting adventures with Onion. Gendi’s performance fills Apple with energy and charm.
