About Arte

Arte is a historical drama anime television series which first premiered in 2020. The series takes place during the 16th century, in Florence, Italy. It's centered around a young aristocratic woman named Arte who dreams of becoming an artist, a profession strictly forbidden to women in this era. She fights against gender norms and class expectations to pursuit her passion for art. Each episode immerses audiences in the vivid and vibrant depictions of Renaissance Italy as Arte navigates her way in the art world.

Making / Production

The series is produced by Seven Arcs and directed by Takayuki Hamana, with scripts written by Reiko Yoshida. Character designs were provided by Chieko Miyakawa, and the music is composed by Gorō Itō. The series is an adaptation of Kei Ohkubo's manga of the same name.
