About Atlantis: Milo's Return

Atlantis: Milo's Return is a 2003 American direct-to-video animated adventure film, produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, released by Walt Disney Home Entertainment on May 20, 2003. A sequel to the 2001 film 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire,' the movie follows Milo Thatch and the gang as they investigate strange occurrences around the world that seem to be linked to the secrets of Atlantis.

In the film, Milo, now living in Atlantis as King and married to Kida, together with the remaining crew embark on a mission on the surface to investigate mysterious phenomena that apparently are leading towards the lost city of Atlantis. The adventurers travel to the American Southwest, the Atlantic Ocean, and Norway on their quest to resolve the mysteries.

Making / Production

The film was initially developed as a series under the working title 'Team Atlantis,' which was intended to expand on the adventures of the Atlantis team. However, following the under-performance of the first film at the box office, the series was scrapped, and the already completed episodes were assembled into what became Atlantis: Milo's Return.

Actors

  • James Arnold Taylor as Milo Thatch: Taylor filled in for Michael J. Fox in the role of Milo Thatch. He brings a youthful enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to the character.
  • Cree Summer as Kidagakash "Kida" Nedakh: Summer lends her voice to the Atlantean princess, effortlessly capturing her strength and desire to learn more about the world.
  • John Mahoney as Preston B. Whitmore: Mahoney plays the wealthy explorer who funds the Atlantis expeditionist, emitting an eccentric, yet determined persona.

Trivia / Interesting Facts
