About Atlas Shrugged 3

"Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?" is the third and final part of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy, based on Ayn Rand's epic 1957 novel, "Atlas Shrugged". Released in 2014, this film focuses on the resolution of the philosophical and political issues raised in the previous parts. Following the economic collapse of the United States, protagonist Dagny Taggart discovers a secret society of innovators and industrialists led by the elusive John Galt. As she grapples with her ideological conflicts, the state makes a desperate bid to recapture these pillars of productivity for societal reconstruction.

Making / Production

Directed by James Manera and written by Harmon Kaslow & John Aglialoro, the production adopted a markedly lower budget than the first two parts. This led to a distinct shift in aesthetic and production quality. Filming occurred in various locations, including Los Angeles, and the California High Desert.

Actors

  • Kristoffer Polaha as John Galt: Polaha delivered a measured performance embodying the Objectivist theoretical founder, John Galt. His interpretation brims with quiet charisma and entrenched principles.
  • Laura Regan as Dagny Taggart: Regan challenged the audiences' preconceived notions about Dagny from the previous films but maintained the integrity of her role as the struggling yet principled businesswoman.
  • Peter Mackenzie as Head of State Thompson: Mackenzie crafts a compelling character that personifies the desperate but authoritarian state determined to maintain control at all costs.
