About Baby's Day Out
Baby's Day Out is a 1994 American family comedy film directed by Patrick Read Johnson and written by John Hughes, who also produced the film. The movie is about Baby Bink who lives a lavish life with his parents and they decide to get his photos taken. However, three conmen pose as photographers and kidnap him. Using his favorite book as a guide, Baby Bink embarks on a citywide adventure crawling his way out of tight spots and eluding his kidnappers.
Making / Production
John Hughes originally conceived the story as a vehicle for a young Macaulay Culkin and as a potential launching spot for another franchise. However, the movie took longer than expected in production, which resulted in Baby's Day Out being hurriedly released in the summer of 1994. The movie was shot extensively in Chicago and involved some elaborate set pieces, especially considering that it was primarily focused on a crawling toddler.
Actors

- Lara Flynn Boyle: She played Bink's mother, Laraine Cotwell, with a gentle, loving, and convincingly panicking performance.
- Joe Pantoliano: He played another kidnapper, Carl, with an entertainingly clumsy criminal performance.
