About Bambi

Bambi is a beloved animated film released by Walt Disney Productions in 1942. It tells the story of a young deer named Bambi, who explores the wonders and challenges of life in the forest with his playful pals Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. Their carefree lives are changed forever after Bambi's mother dies at the hands of a human hunter, leaving the fawn alone to summon the courage to lead the rest of the forest animals.

Making / Production

The film is based on the 1923 novel "Bambi, A Life in the Woods" by Austrian author Felix Salten. The film took over five years to make due to World War II and Walt Disney's insistence on making the characters and forest life as real as possible. More than 750 artists and technicians were involved in the production of the film.
