About Banished

Banished is an engrossing drama series set in the 18th century. It shadows a group of British convicts and their military overseers who establish a new life in Australia, which was then an uninhabited island. Throughout the series, characters are seen battling to live in these harsh conditions while dealing with the psychological and physical challenges posed by their environment. As a penal settlement, rules are strict, punishments are severe, but amid the brutality, remarkable relationships are formed, drives humanity to its very extremities.

Banished is a British drama television series co-produced by RSJ Films and See-Saw Films for BBC Two. The series, created by Jimmy McGovern, was first aired on BBC Two on 5 March 2015. Each episode runs approximately 60 minutes. The breathtaking landscapes were filmed in Sydney, Australia, authenticating the series' historical context.

Actors
