"Behind Enemy Lines" is an action war film released in 2001. It is directed by John Moore. The film is inspired by the experiences of Scott O'Grady, a United States Air Force pilot who was shot down over Bosnia in 1995 and survived in hostile territory for six days before being rescued.

The story centers around Lieutenant Chris Burnett (Owen Wilson), a navigator-bombardier in the United States Navy, who is shot down over Bosnia and finds himself trapped behind enemy lines during the Bosnian War. With time running out, his commanding officer launches a renegade rescue mission to bring him back home, against the strict NATO directives.
