About The BFG
The BFG (2016) is a fantasy adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The film is about a young orphan girl named Sophie who is taken to the Giant Country by the Big Friendly Giant (BFG). The BFG, unlike other giants, doesn't eat people but instead consumes a plant-based diet and spends his time whizzpopping and creating dreams. Sophie and BFG then embark on an adventure to capture the other man-eating giants who have been invading the human world.
Making / Production
Steven Spielberg, a long-time fan of Dahl's work, secured rights to the book in 1991, and the film's development began in earnest in 2004 with screenwriter Melissa Mathison. The film was shot primarily in three locations: Vancouver, London, and the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
Actors

- Penelope Wilton as The Queen - Wilton provides an enjoyably whimsical take on Queen Elizabeth II.
