About Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey is a 1991 American science fiction comedy film, and the sequel to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989). The movie follows the titular characters, Bill and Ted, as they find themselves battling evil robot duplicates of themselves in order to restore balance in the universe. As they traverse heaven, hell, and everything in between, they meet many strange and interesting characters, including a cheeky alien named Station.

Making / Production

Directed by Peter Hewitt and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bogus Journey was produced by Scott Kroopf and Alex Winter (who also played Bill). The visual effects were handled by Kevin Yagher, known for his work in the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' series. Filming took place in locations such as Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park and Raging Waters San Dimas in California.

Actors

  • Keanu Reeves as Ted "Theodore" Logan: Keanu reprised his role as Ted, portraying his characteristic laid-back and cheerful demeanor convincingly.
  • Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston, Esq: As with Reeves, Winter also reprised his role and kept up Bill's eccentric and enthusiastic persona.
  • William Sadler as Death: Sadler played the Grim Reaper, who challenged Bill and Ted to a variety of games in order to claim their souls, to hilarious effect.

The film won the Saturn Award for Best Makeup and got nominated for Best Science Fiction Film, Best Costumes, and Best Special Effects in 1992.
