About Blown Away
Released in 1994, "Blown Away" is an action-packed thriller about a former Irish Republican Army explosive expert who becomes a serial bomber set on revenge. The movie was directed by Stephen Hopkins and filmed in Boston, Massachusetts.
Jimmy Dove (Jeff Bridges), an explosives disposal expert for Boston’s Bomb Squad, was once a member of the IRA. When Ryan Gaerity (Tommy Lee Jones), an old enemy and fellow IRA operative, escapes from prison, he seeks revenge against Jimmy by placing bombs around Boston. As Jimmy races against time to stop Ryan's destructive rampage, he must confront his own conflicted past and the real reason he left the IRA.
