About Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: Civil War is an American superhero film, released in 2016, based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America. The plot pivots around internal fracturing among the Avengers team. The tension rises between Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Tony Stark (Iron Man) over differing philosophies about how superheroes should operate. A law is passed to oversee superhuman activity which Captain America opposes, leading to a division amongst the Avengers and igniting a civil war.
Making / Production
Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The screenplay was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and the film was produced by Kevin Feige. The concept of the civil war was proposed in 2006 based on the comic storyline and was finally adapted for the big screen a decade later. Filming took place in several international locations including Germany, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Norfolk.
