About Captain Marvel
"Captain Marvel" is a superhero film that is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie follows the journey of Vers, a Kree warrior with amnesia, on her path to self-discovery. After crash-landing on Earth in 1995, Vers begins to have flashes of another life. With help from S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury, she embarks on a quest to find out who she really is. By its end, she learns she's Carol Danvers, a U.S. Air Force pilot believed to have died while testing an experimental engine created by Kree scientist Mar-Vell.

The film was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, produced by Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios. "Captain Marvel" was written by Boden, Fleck and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. It was Marvel Studios first female-centric superhero film. It is also notable for its 90’s setting and strong theme of female empowerment.
