About Carrie

Carrie is a supernatural horror movie, released in 2013. It is the third film adaptation of Stephen King's 1974 novel of the same name. The film is directed by Kimberly Peirce and follows Carrie White, a shy, friendless high school student who possesses telekinetic powers. After being pushed too far during her prom by her classmates, she unleashes her powers in a destructive spree.

Making / Production

The production of Carrie began in 2011, directed by Kimberly Peirce and produced by Kevin Misher. Screenplay was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Shot primarily in Canada, the movie provided an updated, modern twist to the original classic novel.

Actors

  • Portia Doubleday was cast as Chris Hargensen, the main antagonist who triggers Carrie's rampage at the prom.
