Castle is an American crime-comedy-drama television series, which broadcasted on ABC for a total of eight seasons from March 9, 2009, to May 16, 2016. The series is primarily set in New York City and is created by Andrew W. Marlowe. It centers around Richard Castle, a best-selling mystery novelist, who tags along NYPD homicide detective Kate Beckett to solve unusual crimes in New York City.

Making / Production

The series was produced by ABC Studios, Beacon Pictures, Experimental Pictures, and The Barry Schindel Company. The show was filmed on location in New York City and Los Angeles. The producers used a combination of real locations and studio sets to portray the dynamic city landscape.

• Throughout the show, Castle has different colored "Murder Boards." They change color to indicate how close they are to solving the case.
• Apart from the main series, there is also a series of novels released under the name Richard Castle.

'Castle' received several nominations for TV awards throughout its run. Stana Katic won a PRISM Award for Performance in a Drama Episode, and the series itself won a TV Guide Magazine's Fan Favorites Award for Favorite Couple, recognizing the on-screen chemistry of the lead pair.
