This 2005 film, based on C.S. Lewis' classic novel, follows the adventurous journey of four young siblings who find a magical wardrobe that transports them to the mystical world of Narnia. There, they work alongside mythical creatures to overthrow the White Witch who has draped Narnia in eternal winter.

Making / Production

Directed by Andrew Adamson and produced by Mark Johnson and Philip Steuer, the movie uses a combination of live-action scenes, computer-generated creatures, and stunning landscapes. The film was shot in huge sets in the UK, New Zealand, Poland and the Czech Republic, making the fantastic world of Narnia come to life.

  • Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensie - With her honest and innocent performance, she brought to life the youngest Pevensie sibling who first discovers Narnia.

  • The children's cinematic aging is depicted by their growing height: they wore shoes with lifts that increased as filming progressed.
  • In the initial phases of production, the role of Aslan was going to be done by a puppet or a human in a costume. It was later decided to use CGI effects to portray Aslan.
