About The Company You Keep

"The Company You Keep" is a political thriller film released in 2012. It's directed by Robert Redford, who also stars in the film, and based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Neil Gordon. The plot centers on a former Weather Underground activist who goes on the run after a journalist outs him. Redford plays Jim Grant, a public interest lawyer and single father living in Albany, New York. Nick Sloan, a reporter played by Shia LaBeouf, uncovers Grant's true identity as a former 1970s antiwar radical fugitive with a murder rap hanging over him.

The film was produced by Voltage Pictures and Wildwood Enterprises. The production process began in 2011 and filming primarily occurred in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, several scenes were also shot on location in New York and Michigan.
