About The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight is a 2008 superhero film, based on the DC Comics character Batman. It was directed, produced and co-written by Christopher Nolan, and it's the second installment of Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy. The film presents Batman's challenges in battling an anarchistic psychopath, The Joker, whilst dealing with internal conflicts and corruption in Gotham City. The movie was praised for its mature treatment of its themes, depth of storytelling and the outstanding performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker.
Making / Production
Pre-production began in early 2006 with the announcement of Nolan's return as director. Filming commenced in April 2007, majorly in Chicago, with a few additional scenes shot in Hong Kong and London. The Dark Knight was the first major feature film to make substantial use of IMAX 70mm cameras.
