About Das Boot

Das Boot, a German television series, is a sequel to the 1981 movie of the same name. It is based on Lothar-Günther Buchheim's 1973 novel "Das Boot," as well as his 1995 sequel "Die Festung." The storyline embarks in the Autumn of 1942, at a time when submarine warfare was becoming brutally intense. The plot has two primary narratives, one set on the U-boat, and the other focused on the resistance movement in La Rochelle.
