Deadwood is an American western television series which aired from 2004 to 2006 on HBO. Created and majorly written by David Milch, the show takes place in the 1870s in Deadwood, South Dakota, portraying the town's evolution from camp to town. It's known for its rich characterisation, its blend of historical and fictional events, and its intense and dramatic narrative.

Making / Production

The making of Deadwood was a massive undertaking. The creator, David Milch, brought together a seasoned production team that built an entire recreation of 1870's Deadwood from the ground up in an extensive outdoor lot. Others brought the world to life with detailed sets, props, and costumes. The dialogue was often steeped in period language, lending to its authenticity.
