Descendants 2 is a Disney Channel Original Movie that follows the journey of Mal, the teenage daughter of Maleficent. Released on July 21, 2017, the film is a direct sequel to Descendants and continued its success. The audience gets to witness the lives of the teenage offspring of Disney's infamous villains - Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil.

Whilst struggling to be perfect for her new life as the lady of the court, Mal returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where she meets her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula. Driven by revenge, Uma hatches a plan to break the barrier around Auradon and release all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

Making / Production

Directed by Kenny Ortega, Descendants 2 started filming in September 2016 in Vancouver, Canada and wrapped up in mid-December. The film had a significant larger budget than its predecessor which allowed for more lavish sets and spectacular musical numbers.
