About Digimon Tamers

Digimon Tamers, aired in 2001, is an anime series that is the third installment of the Digimon franchise. It focuses on a group of children and their partners, known as Digimon. Unlike the earlier series where the characters were transported to the world of Digimon, in Digimon Tamers, the Digimons are brought into the human world through a card game.

Making / Production

The anime series was produced by Toei Animation, directed by Yukio Kaizawa and written by Chiaki Konaka who are known for works like Serial Experiments Lain, The Big O, and Hellsing. The character designs were done by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.

Actors

  • Makoto Tsumura as Takato Matsuda - Takato is a sensitive yet optimistic main character who plays the Tamer of Guilmon. He strives to be a good Tamer.
