About Django Unchained

'Django Unchained' is a 2012 American western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The story is set in the Old West and Antebellum South, and is a highly stylized tribute to Spaghetti Westerns. The narrative revolves around Django, a slave who is freed by a bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz, who needs Django's help to find his bounty. Eventually, Django makes it his mission to rescue his wife from a cruel plantation owner.

The film was produced by Quentin Tarantino, Stacey Sher and Reginald Hudlin. Shot extensively in California, the film's production also took place in Wyoming and Louisiana. The brilliant cinematography was provided by Robert Richardson, twice Academy Awards winner.
