About Doug

Doug is an animated television series that aired from 1996 to 1999. The show portrayed the life of schoolboy Doug Funnie as he moved to Bluffington from Bloatsburg. The stories recounted Doug's experiences with his friends, family and his crush, Patti Mayonnaise, inspiring young viewers to overcome challenges with imagination, friends, and resourcefulness.

Making / Production

The show was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation and Jumbo Pictures Corporation. Its creation ranged from interweaving various storyboard frames to final animation painting, requiring the efforts of a diverse team of artists, writers, directors and animators. Moreover, it began as a Nickelodeon show called 'Doug' (1991 - 1994) before it was acquired by Disney and renamed as 'Brand Spanking New Doug' (1996), and then as 'Disney's Doug' (1996 - 1999).
