About DuckTales

The remade DuckTales that aired from 2017 to 2020 is a reimagining of the classic 1987 series. The show follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. After not speaking to each other for ten years, Scrooge McDuck reunites with Donald Duck after he moves into McDuck Manor, along with his nephews. In their travels, they cross paths with some characters from the original series, including the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, Gyro Gearloose and Duckworth.

Making / Production

The series was produced by Disney Television Animation. The idea to reboot the original 1987 series surfaced within Disney, led by Disney XD's senior vice president, Marc Buhaj. The series was announced in February 2015 and debuted on Disney XD in August 2017.

The show has been nominated for multiple awards, including a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special in 2018. In 2019, the show won the award for Best Animated Series on Television at the ReFrame Stamp Awards.
