About Eragon

Eragon is a fantasy-adventure film directed by Stefen Fangmeier based on the novel of the same name by Christopher Paolini. It was released in USA on December 15, 2006. The movie is set in the Kingdom of Alagaësia and follows the journey of a young farm boy named Eragon, who discovers a dragon's egg and becomes the dragon rider that prophecies had foretold. Along with an old storyteller named Brom and his dragon named Saphira, Eragon embarks on a quest to overthrow the corrupt King Galbatorix, who ruled the kingdom with fear and a vicious Dragon Rider, Durza. Eragon's journey is filled with magic, daunting challenges, and thrilling adventures.

Making / Production

Directed by Stefan Fangmeier, a visual effects veteran in Hollywood, the film was a large-scale production with extensive visual effects. The filming took place in Hungary, Slovakia and was assisted by the team at Industrial Light & Magic for creating the dragon digitally. "Eragon" was produced by John Davis and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Actors
