About Everest

Everest is a 2015 biographical adventure film directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy. This epic movie is inspired by the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, in which two expedition groups were left struggling for survival during a severe snowstorm.

Making / Production

The film was funded by multiple companies, including Universal Pictures and Cross Creek Pictures. The production aimed for authenticity with shooting locations in Nepal, at the base of Everest, and in the Italian Alps. Computer-generated imagery (CGI) was also extensively used to recreate the mountain's dangers.

Actors
