Making / Production

Fame was produced by Lakeshore Entertainment's Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, and Richard Wright, and directed by Kevin Tancharoen. It was picked up by MGM and United Artists. The film was shot in and around New York City's High School of Performing Arts and welcomed the help of a crew made up of former students from the real school.
