About Family Guy

Family Guy is an animated television series that premiered on Fox on January 31, 1999. Created by Seth MacFarlane, the show features the lives of the Griffin family, a dysfunctional household residing in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island. The family includes dimwitted but well-meaning father Peter; lovable if not always responsible mother Lois; their teenagers - Chris and Meg, the former who is overweight and somewhat slow, the latter often ignored and socially awkward; baby Stewie, who is supremely intelligent with a British accent and a mission to achieve world domination; and their anthropomorphic pet dog Brian, who is often more sensible than the humans around him.

Making / Production

Family Guy was conceived by MacFarlane while studying animation at the Rhode Island School of Design. After developing two animated films, he was invited by Fox to create a series, resulting in Family Guy. Despite several cancellations and renewals, the show continues to enjoy popularity and has achieved a cult status among its fans.

Actors

  • Seth MacFarlane as Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, and Brian: MacFarlane has created distinct characters using vastly different voices and personalities. His performances provide a significant part of the show's humor.
  • Alex Borstein as Lois Griffin: Borstein delivers Lois's lines with aplomb, infusing her character with a mix of patience, frustration, and occasional bursts of wild behavior.
  • Milana Vayntrub as Meg Griffin (2021 onwards): Vayntrub recently took over the role from previous voice actor Mila Kunis and continues to depict Meg's self-deprecation and typical teenage angst.
  • Seth Green as Chris Griffin: Green brings a jovial naivety to Chris, skillfully portraying his character's childlike innocence despite his size and age.
