About Fear Factor

Fear Factor is a reality TV show series that first premiered in 2001 and was rebooted in 2011. The series features contestants who must confront their most extreme fears to complete physical and mental stunts. If they fail to complete a stunt, they are eliminated from the competition. The last remaining team, or competitor, wins the grand prize. Fear Factor serves up a lot of action and drama, testing the contestants' courage and resolve to the limit.

Making / Production

The series was initially produced by Endemol USA and aired on NBC. In 2011, the series was renewed and Howard Schultz, the executive producer of the original series, returned in the same role. The production team focused on creating epic scenarios to push the contestants out of their comfort zones, using a combination of physical challenges, creepy crawlies, heights, and mental mind games to test their resolve.
