About FernGully: The Last Rainforest

FernGully: The Last Rainforest is a 1992 animated environmental film, produced by Kroyer Films Inc. and Youngheart Productions, and released by 20th Century Fox. The film revolves around FernGully, a rainforest near Mount Warning, Australia. FernGully is a magical place inhabited by fairies who believe humans have become extinct. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when they discover humans cutting down their forest. The fairies then join hands with curious humans to save the rainforest from an evil entity named Hexxus.

Making/Production

The film was directed by Bill Kroyer, and its screenplay was written by Jim Cox. Its idea was inspired by stories told by Diana Young, the film's co-producer and the author of the original book, about the Australian rainforest.
