About Fireheart
Fireheart, released in 2022, is a gripping, adventurous tale set in New York City in 1932. It's a time when women’s rights are still a battle to fight, where Georgia Nolan is a fiery young woman with a deep-rooted desire to become a firefighter. However, women are not allowed to join the firefighter department due to the era's patriarchal norms. When the city's professionally trained firefighters start to mysteriously disappear in an outbreak of eccentric fires, Georgia sees this as a golden opportunity. She takes on the pseudonym "Joe" and joins a band of improvised firemen consisting of outcasts and others who are inexperienced but nonetheless enthusiastic. The movie does not only narrate the heroic acts but also highlights, in a strong, emotional narrative, the social issues of that time, reinforcing the disgrace of gender discrimination.
