About Flicka

Flicka is a 2006 American family adventure drama movie loosely based on the 1941 children's novel 'My Friend Flicka' written by Mary O'Hara. It revolves around a young girl, Katy McLaughlin, her deep passion for horses and her bond with a wild Mustang named Flicka.

The film explores her struggle to prove to her father that Flicka is a worthy horse that can be tamed and ridden. Despite the many hurdles, Katy's determination to tame Flicka eventually helps her father realize the real passion his daughter has for horses.

Making / Production

The film was directed by Michael Mayer and produced by Gil Netter. Largely shot amidst the beautiful landscapes of Wyoming, the cast and crew often had to brave adverse weather conditions, contributing to the authenticity of the film.

Actors
