About Food Wars!

Food Wars! is an anime series that premiered in 2015. Based on a serialized manga, the show follows the culinary trials and tribulations of teenager Sōma Yukihira. After his father’s restaurant is closed, Sōma is enrolled in the elite Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute where he must test his cooking skills against a multitude of opponents.

Making / Production

The anime adaptation of Food Wars! was announced in October 2014 by Shueisha. The series was directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani at J.C.Staff and scripts were handled by Shogo Yasukawa. Each episode encapsulates the passion, creativity, and determination packed in this food adventure.

Actors

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka who voices Sōma Yukihira, does an excellent job of capturing the character's creativity, passion and unyielding spirit.
