Friday the 13th, Part II (released in 1981) is a horror-slasher film and a sequel to "Friday the 13th". It was directed by Steve Miner and is notable for being the first film to introduce Jason Voorhees, the killer who would become the mascot of the series, as the main antagonist.

The plot is set five years after the gruesome massacre that occurred in the previous film, now Camp Crystal Lake stands abandoned. Ginny Field and Paul Holt open a counselor training center near Crystal Lake, the home of the notorious killer Jason Voorhees, who emerges from his long slumber to wreak havoc among the new inhabitants.

Directed by Steve Miner in his directorial debut and produced by Frank Mancuso, Jr., the sequel was shot on a budget of approximately $1.25 million and went on to gross over $21.7 million at the box office.
