About Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (HBO)

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is a 1989 American slasher film directed by Rob Hedden and is the eighth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. It follows the infamous Jason Voorhees who is revived once more and finds himself aboard a ship en route to New York, wreaking havoc and terrorizing a group of high school seniors on their graduation trip.

Making / Production

The movie was produced by Paramount Pictures and Horror Inc., with Rob Hedden writing the script and directing the movie. The decision to have the movie set on a ship was to provide a new environment for Jason's massacre besides the traditional camp setting, providing a fresh backdrop for the horror elements the franchise is known for.

Actors
