About Friends: The Reunion

"Friends: The Reunion", also known as "The One Where They Get Back Together", was released in 2021. The special reunion episode featured the original cast members from the hit sitcom "Friends" along with many notable guest stars. Coming together for an unscripted reunion, the cast relived some of their best on-screen moments, reflect on the iconic show and share brand-new behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

Making / Production

The reunion special was directed by Ben Winston and produced by Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane. The production faced a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally premiered on HBO Max on May 27, 2021. The episode was filmed at Stage 24, the original soundstage at Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank where the series was filmed.

Actors

• Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green): Reprising her role as Rachel, Aniston brought back the charm and wit of her beloved character.

• During the taping, Lady Gaga made a surprise guest appearance to perform "Smelly Cat" with Lisa Kudrow.
• The reunion featured a replica of the original Friends set, including Central Perk coffee shop, Monica's apartment, and Joey's and Chandler's apartment.
• The cast did a table read of "The One Where Everybody Finds Out" -- a favorite episode of many fans.
