Fruits Basket (2019) is a Japanese anime television series that serves as a reboot of the 2001 series of the same name. The plot centers around a young orphaned girl named Tohru Honda who is taken in by the members of the mysterious Sohma family, who are all cursed to turn into animals of the Chinese Zodiac when hugged by a member of the opposite sex who is not of their family.

Making / Production

The series came to life under the supervision of director Yoshihide Ibata at TMS Entertainment. It was the second anime adaptation of the popular manga series created by Natsuki Takaya. The show garnered attention for bringing to life the untold chapters of the manga that had been overlooked in the previous adaptation.
