About Garfield

The 2004 movie is a live-action film with CGI animation based on the popular "Garfield" comic strip by Jim Davis. In the movie, Garfield (Bill Murray), a lazy, fat, and cynical orange cat, faces off against various annoyances, but his universe takes a twist when his owner, Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer), takes in a dim-witted but lovable Dog named Odie.

Making / Production

Produced by 20th Century Fox and Davis Entertainment, the movie was directed by Peter Hewitt. The process of creating the movie was a complex task of integrating live-action with CGI. The filmmakers employed Rhythm & Hues Studios to create the CGI for Garfield and other animal characters.
