About Guilty Crown
Guilty Crown is an intriguing anime series that aired in Japan from October 2011 to March 2012. Set in post-apocalyptic Japan in 2039, the story revolves around Shu Ouma, a high school student who inadvertently obtains an unusual ability known as the "Power of Kings". This allows him to extract "voids" or tools from other people. Thrown into a conflict between the oppressive government organization GHQ and the resistance group Funeral Parlor, Shu must navigate a path filled with danger, secrets, and betrayal.
Making / Production
The series is produced by Production I.G, directed by Tetsurō Araki, with script supervision by Hiroyuki Yoshino. Super Cell's Ryo, who wrote the music for the series, named it "Guilty Crown" because Shu, the protagonist, is burdened with the guilt of the troubles those around him suffer due to his powers.
Actors
- Yuuki Kaji as Shu Ouma: Kaji effectively brought out the transition of his character from a shy introvert to a reluctant leader. His performance added depth and realism to Shu's challenging journey.
- Ai Kayano as Inori Yuzuriha: Known as the voice actress who can mend broken hearts, Kayano embodied her mysterious, enchanting character Inori with grace and finesse.
- Kana Hanazawa as Ayase Shinomiya: Hanazawa played the role of Ayase with impressive emotion, portraying a strong and determined individual despite her physical limitations.

- The design of the Void Genome was inspired by a popular Japanese toy for children - the Kendama.
