About Hanzo the Razor: Sword of Justice
Released in 1972, "Hanzo the Razor: Sword of Justice" is the first film in a Japanese trilogy featuring the character Hanzo, a samurai with a unorthodox technique serving justice. Hanzo, also a government official, isn’t the typical sword-swinging samurai. His unconventional methods, which include unusual persuasive techniques and physical torture, set him apart from his contemporaries.
Making / Production
Directed by Kenji Misumi, the movie is based on Kazuo Koike's manga series "Goyokiba". The film was produced by Toho, known for their production of the iconic Godzilla series. The story was brought to life on screen through a screenplay by Kazuo Koike.
