About The Haunting in Connecticut

The Haunting in Connecticut is an American psychological horror film released in 2009. Set in Connecticut, the plot focuses on the Campbell family moving to an old Victorian house that was previously used as a mortuary to treat the cancer-stricken Matt.

Soon startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, and the Campbell family is subjected to a menacingly sinister presence dwelling within the house. As the supernatural undertones deepen, they soon realise they are living in a haunted house.

Making / Production

Directed by Peter Cornwell, The Haunting in Connecticut is based on the real experiences of the Snedeker family in the 1980s. The script was written by Adam Simon and Tim Metcalfe. The dramatized version of these events serves as a spine-chilling metaphor of the fear of death and illness.

Actors

  • Virginia Madsen as Sara Campbell: Madsen impeccably portrays a mother struggling to maintain unity in her family amidst the horrors.

  • Elias Koteas as Reverend Nicholas Popescu: Koteas brings to life a reverend willing to help the Campbell family, immersing himself in the supernatural fight.
