Plot
"Heroic Age" is an anime television series that aired in 2007. The plot involves a young boy, Age, who becomes the gravitational point around which the fate of the universe revolves. The tribes of humanity are guided by a prophecy to find the savior, Age. The universe is divided into multiple tribes namely the Heroic Tribe, Iron Tribe, Silver Tribe, Bronze Tribe, and the Bug Tribe. Each tribe represents different aspects of society and has unique abilities.
Summary
The entire series is a voyage through space where the human beings (Iron Tribe) are battling for survival against other tribes. The Iron Tribe prophecy leads them to Age, the prophesised hero, who has the power to combat the Silver Tribe, Bronze Tribe and Bug Tribe. The Silver Tribe aims to destroy other tribes to rule the universe, whereas the Bronze and Bug Tribes serve them. The dramatic storyline converges on whether humanity can find its rightful place in the universe.
Making / Production
The television series was produced by XEBEC studio and directed by Toshimasa Suzuki. Tow Ubukata, the writer, masterfully explores philosophical concepts within this space opera setting. Character designs were done by Hisashi Hirai and the music was composed by Naoki Sato. Broadcasted originally on TV Tokyo, it generated a considerable fanbase and appreciation.
