Set in the 'real world' of East High, where the original High School Musical movies were filmed, this Disney+ original series follows a group of students as they countdown to the opening night of their school's first-ever production of "High School Musical." Seasoned with meta references to the original film series, it is a modern take on the classic teen musical genre.

Making / Production

The series was developed by Tim Federle and was commissioned in 2018 by Disney for its streaming platform, Disney+. Production began in February 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
